Joan is originally from Medford, WI. She has always had an interest in fitness and sports. Already being a certified spinning instructor, Joan wanted to take it one-step further to become a personal trainer. She is now certified through the IFPA. (International Fitness Professional Association)
Joan spent four year in the United States Air Force as a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. She served during the Gulf War (Desert Shield/Storm) while stationed in England.
In her spare time, she is busy training to compete in bike racing for the overdrive cycling team. If you don’t see Joan instructing the extreme cycling class then she is hitting the free weights or enjoying the outdoors.
Growing up with five brothers gave Joan a competitive attitude to excel in sports and fitness. Now, working with people to help improve their strength and over all physical condition keeps her motivated.

Fitness has always been a part of my life. I have spent the last 8 years training as a competitive athlete. In 2005, I decided to turn my passion into a career. Being certified as a personal fitness trainer has allowed me to work with people from all walks of life with many different fitness goals.
In my early years as an athlete I began weight training and studying nutrition, and its importance in fitness. After having competed and excelled in high school athletics, my goals switched to bodybuilding. In my short career as a bodybuilder I have won Mr. Teen Minnesota and in 2008 was awarded 5th place in the lightweight division at the pro-qualifying Mr. Wisconsin. Future goals for bodybuilding are always changing, but I plan on working to stay in good physical condition as long as I can.
Education is also an ongoing part of my life. I am a Psychology student at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and hope to continue my education after graduation. Outside the gym I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle by being active. I enjoy outdoor activities such as riding atv, hunting, rock climbing, snowboarding, and camping. I also enjoy music and the company of good friends.
Feel free to ask me any questions if we meet in the gym or contact me via email @ jmanor@bodyworksmenomonie.com.
